Highway Corridors

Three major corridors intersect the County. The Canamex Corridor stretches across roughly 1,150 km of Alberta’s provincial highway network. This network includes parts of Highways 4, 3, 2, 216, 16 and 43, and offers an advantageous linking point between the Alberta and Montana border crossing to the Alberta and BC border on Highway 43. Highway 43 forms the northernmost portion of the Canamex Corridor and is the start of the Alaska Highway.

The Cowboy Trail is a 700-kilometre route along Highway 22 featuring multiple points of interest and adventure.

Lastly, Alberta Provincial Highway 33 (also known as Grizzly Trail) was the original Klondike Trail. It was widely advertised as the shortest route to the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush.
